Best downloadable survival, field guides

I was able to buy a laptop for $50. What I want to do with it, besides watch movies, is to load it with every kind of useful information that you might need but not have access to or have room for with books.

Suggestions?

burn your info to mutiple CD's and find a way to make your laptop run on solar power

i'm prepping for a possible future without electricity

i've downloaded tons of articles and pictures

edited the articles for the relevant parts and photoshopped the pictures to save ink

Solar is covered, I'm just looking for the best concise info.I used to have a large library with ALL of this info and most of it's still in my brain but...sometimes ya can't forget to skip a step, LMAO. I was thinkin' that others have had this idea too and I could jump past the searching curve.

I've downloaded a lot of manuals and such, and still do, but I have to admit I don't read them much. It's simply too tempting to go look for more stuff when I'm at the computer. So my suggestion is that when you find something that is absolutely critical to have on hand (and will not be electronically retrievable when you really need it) is to put it into a printable format (if it isn't in pdf already) and run it down to Kinkos, where it can be bound into book form. Or print it out at home and have them bind it. It isn't very expensive, and besides, as the motto here is

If you don't HOLD it, you don't HAVE it!!
